Toronto Maple Leafs 2, Oshawa Dodgers 1
In Toronto, Mike Grieve singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Maple Leafs to a 2-1 win over the Oshawa Dodgers Sunday at Christie Pits.
David Hatch (1-0) retired the final two batters in the ninth inning for the win. Starter Paul Spoljaric struck out six batters while allowing one hit in three innings and Hans Schnell allowed one unearned run and two hits in 5 1/3 innings of relief.
Rob Patterson gave Toronto the lead with an RBI double in the fourth inning.
Oshawa tied the game on an error in the eighth inning and reliever Chris England (0-1) allowed the winning run and three hits in 3 2/3 innings.

In St. Thomas, Sean McGregor scored the winning run on a throwing error in the fourth inning to help the London Majors to a 6-2 win over the Storm in a rain-soaked five-inning game.
Luke Hazelwood, Todd Bargman and Yoel Fernandez each had two hits and an RBI in the win and Ryan Finnson (1-0) pitched all five innings for London, giving up two runs and four hits with four strikeouts.
St. Thomas starter Rick Ross (0-1) worked four innings, allowing six runs and seven hits in the loss.
