Brantford Red Sox 9, London Majors 1

At Brantford, Steve Charles had three hits, scored three runs and drove in a pair to power the Red Sox to a 9-1 win over the London Majors.

Wayne Forman scored the winning run on a fielding error by the London catcher in the first inning.

Brad Hogeterp (1-0) was the winner after striking out nine batters and holding London to one run and four hits in six innings.

Raul Rodriguez (0-1) gave up eight runs, six earned, and eight hits in four innings. Yoel Fernandez had a pair of hits and drove in a run for London.

Guelph Royals 11, Barrie Baycats 4

In Barrie, Dave Teboekhorst had a pair of hits, including a home run, and drove in a pair of runs to help the Guelph Royals to a 11-4 win over the Baycats.

Paul Bruder (1-0) held Barrie to one run and three hits while striking out five batters in eight innings.

Marc Sgrignoli had two hits and was walked four times. He stole a pair of bases and scored three times.

Korey Bannerman (0-1) suffered the loss for Barrie, who walked 18 batters. Rob Roy had an RBI double.

In Oshawa, Mick Kurhan had three hits and drove in three runs to pace the Dodgers to a 13-10 win over the Waterloo Tigers.

Darryl Reid also had three hits and Derek Minacs had singles and drove in a pair of runs in the win.

Chad Stone (2-0) allowed two hits and two unearned runs in three innings.

Starter Chad Hyatt (0-1) managed just two outs in the first inning, giving up six runs for the loss.

Mike Robertson had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI and Jason Herbert had three singles.

Kitchener Panthers 11, St. Thomas Storm 1

At St. Thomas, Ben Kangas homered and drove in four runs to give the Kitchener Panthers an 11-1 win over the Storm.

Adam Hornostaj (1-0) struck out five batters in five innings, allowing one run and four hits.

Kyle Stark (0-1) was tagged for eight runs and five hits while walking seven batters and striking out seven in a six-inning start.

Tyler Stevenson had an RBI double in the fourth inning for St. Thomas.
