Kitchener Panthers 5, Toronto Maple Leafs 4
In Kitchener, Brian Carter slugged a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Panthers a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Carter had three hits and Harpreet Padda was two-for-four, including a double, and scored a run as the Panthers handed Toronto their first loss of the season.
Chris Currie (1-0) worked one inning of relief, striking out two batters in the ninth inning for the win.
Mark Eccleton (2-1) gave up four runs - one unearned - and five hits in four innings of relief. Starter Paul Spoljaric struck out 13 of the 15 batters he faced in a five-inning start.
Rob Butler had a pair of hits, including a solo home run in the third inning, and Carl Embro had a two-run double in the fourth inning.
