Barrie Baycats 8, Guelph Royals 5

In Guelph, Cory Turchan scored the game-winner in a four-run ninth inning that gave the Barrie Baycats an 8-5 win over the Royals.

Matt Hochevar (1-0) allowed two runs in three innings for the win and Matt Miller closed the game with a scoreless ninth inning for his first save.

Brian Dikdan (0-1) pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up four runs in the loss. Joel Lynch had three hits, scored a run and had an RBI and Chris Becker drove in a pair of runs for Guelph.
