Barrie Baycats 10, St. Thomas Storm 0 (Game 1)

Coogie Freedman pitched a complete-game two-hit shutout to back the Barrie Baycats to a 10-0 win over the Storm in the first game of a Canada Day double header in St. Thomas.

Jared McCord had four hits and drove in a run and Cory Turchan added three singles and and RBI in the win.

Freedman gave up two hits and struck out seven batters for his first win of the season.

Kyle Stark (0-5) pitched all seven innings, giving up 10 runs and 12 hits while striking out seven batters and walking 10.

Rob Roy had a pair of hits, including an RBI single that brought in the winning run in the seventh inning to give the Baycats a 1-0 win over St. Thomas in the second game.

Jordan Neufeld (2-1) tossed a four-hit shutout, striking out six batters and walking two for the win.

Darby Parsons (0-4) worked the entire game for St. Thomas, giving up one run and six hits. Joe Fansher had three hits for St. Thomas.

In Guelph, Jason Borghese crushed a three-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Royals an 8-5 win over the Waterloo Tigers.

Kyle Leon hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Chris Becker had three hits and scored twice.

Brian Dikdan (3-3) gave up two runs and five hits in seven innings.

Pat Hill (1-2) allowed five runs and six hits in four innings and Greg Stefan was two-for-three with a pair of walks for Waterloo.

In Oshawa, Kyle Whitson drove in the winning run with a single in the fifth inning to help the Kitchener Panthers to a 9-3 win over the Dodgers.

Ben Kangas had a double and a triple and scored three times and Harpreet Padda, Mark Johnston and Craig Stroh each drove in a pair of runs in the win.

Joel Scott (2-0) gave up three runs and eight hits in six innings and Chris Currie earned his second save with three scoreless innings of relief.

Jeff Tobin (0-1) allowed six runs - one unearned - and six hits in five innings. Pat Tobin was three-for-four and Tony Quick and Ken Calway each chipped in with two hits.

In London, Kyle Piwowarczyk had three hits and drove in a run to help the Majors to a 12-6 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

Rob Robinson (4-1) pitched 5 1/3 innings of relief, giving up two runs - one earned - and striking out nine batters for the win.

Mark Ferguson (1-1) allowed nine runs - five earned - in 3 1/3 innings. Jesse Robertson had three hits, including a home run, and drove in a pair of runs for Brantford.
