Maple Leafs win RAYOVAC Batteries All-Star Game
Toronto Maple Leafs 9, IBL All-Stars 6
In Toronto, Rob Butler and Sean Travers hit back-to-back home runs to help the Maple Leafs to a 9-6 win over the IBL All-Stars in the RAYOVAC Batteries IBL All-Star Game at Chrisite Pits on Wednesday.
Butler, the Maple Leafs player of the game, had three hits and drove in three runs including and RBI single that sparked a four-run sixth inning.
David Hatch pitched 1 1/3 hitless innings for the win and Jon Lockwood struck out the side in the ninth inning for the save. Bryon Bell of the Kitchener Panthers took the loss after giving up four runs and four hits in one inning.
Andy Steeds of the Hamilton Cardinals had two hits, including a three-run double that gave the All-Stars the lead in the sixth inning. He drove in four runs and was named the player of the game for the All-Stars.
