July 19 - Intercounty Baseball Results

Oshawa Dodgers 13, Brantford Red Sox 12

In Oshawa, Ryan Balan hit a three-run home run and scored the winning run in the eighth inning to give the Dodgers a 13-12 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

Jeff Tobin had three hits and drove in two runs and Mick Kurhan added three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in four runs for Oshawa.

Jamaal Joseph (4-0) tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings for the win. He allowed three hits and struck out four batters.

Rich Reid (0-1) allowed one run and four hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Chad Elmy and Jason Gotwalt hit grand slams and Eric Wolfe had three hits, including a two-run homer for Brantford.

Kitchener Panthers 23, Waterloo Tigers 14

In Waterloo, Andy Pietraszko had five hits and drove in five runs to pace the Kitchener Panthers to a 23-14 win over the Tigers.

Kyle Whitson homered and drove in five runs and Randy Curran added three hits in the win.

Mike Olides (1-2) gave up seven runs in two innings for Kitchener.

Mike Robertson and Greg Heffernan each smacked three hits for Waterloo and Ryan Morris (0-1) gave up five runs in one inning of relief.

In Barrie, Tyler Johnstone doubled home the winning run in the eighth inning to lift the Toronto Maple Leafs to an 8-7 win over the Barrie Baycats.

Adwin Springer added a solo home run in the second inning for Toronto.

Jon Lockwood (4-0) gave up five runs and five hits in eight innings for the win and Dave Hatch closed the game with his fourth save.

Jordan Neufeld (2-2) allowed four runs - three earned - and five hits in 4 1/3 innings. Jared McCord doubled and drove in three runs for Barrie.

In Guelph, Dave Teboekhorst hit a two-run double in the fourth inning to help the Royals edge the London Majors 3-2.

Chris Becker and Joel Lynch each added a pair of hits in the win.

Brian Dikdan (6-3) worked six innings, giving up two runs - one earned - and five hits while striking out six batters.

Rob Robinson (6-2) allowed three runs and eight hits in eight innings and Chad McKellar had a pair of hits for London.
