July 26 - Intercounty Baseball Results

Brantford Red Sox 7, St. Thomas Storm 4

In Brantford, Wayne Forman belted out four hits and drove in four runs to pace the Red Sox to a 7-4 win over the St. Thomas Storm.

Jesse Robertson added a pair of hits and scored three times and Richie Reid doubled and then scored the winning run on an error in the sixth inning.

Brad Hogeterp (6-3) tossed six scoreless innings for the win. He allowed one hit and two walks and struck out five batters. Mike McFadden retired the final four batters for his first save.

Aaron Owen (0-4) worked all eight innings for St. Thomas, giving up seven runs - one unearned - and 10 hits. Jay Greaves smacked an RBI double that helped St. Thomas score four times in the eighth inning.

Oshawa Dodgers 10, Toronto Maple Leafs 9

In Oshawa, Ryan Crotin led off the ninth inning with a triple and then scored on Ken Calway's sacrifice fly to lift the Dodgers to a 10-9 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Crotin had a pair of home runs and scored three times and Ryan Balan added a two-run homer for Oshawa.

Jamaal Joseph (5-0) worked 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win after starter Matt Tosoni gave up four runs in six innings.

John Chadwick (0-3) gave up two runs and three hits in 1 1/3 innigs of relief for starter David Hatch, who allowed five runs in three innings.

Rob Patterson belted a three-run double in the eighth inning and Chadwick added a solo homer for Toronto.

Guelph Royals 9, Waterloo Tigers 7

In Guelph, Kevin Hinton smashed a three-run double in the eighth inning to give the Royals a 9-7 win over the Waterloo Tigers.

John Hanko homered and Ryan Roeder added three hits and scored twice for Guelph.

Kris Kewley (2-1) tossed two innings of relief, giving up one run for the win after Mel Melehes allowed one run and two hits while striking out nine batters in a five-inning start.

Matt Stocco and Jason Borghese each had two hits and scored twice and Pat Hill (1-2) was tagged for nine runs and nine hits in a complete-game effort for Waterloo.
