Dodgers Win First Ever Inter-County Game!

Oshawa won their first-ever Inter-County Major game with a 6-4 victory over visiting and previously undefeated Brantford. Junior pitcher Steve Butterworth earned the win with a gutsy eight-inning performance. He gave up 2 earned runs on seven hits while striking out one and walking none.
Brad Hanna led the Dodgers attack going two for three with two runs scored and an RBI. Junior Phil Stone was two for four with an RBI double, and Ryan Crotin chipped in with a hit and a pair of RBI�s. Brandon Steele led the Red Sox attack with two hits, including a towering 420-foot home run. Ryan Lane added a hit and two RBI�s. Jeff Simeone took the loss despite allowing just one hit over the first five innings.

Mark Scrignoli�s 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth powered the Royals to a come from behind victory over the visiting Storm. Kevin Treichel also had a big night for Guelph, going three for five with a home run, triple, single and three RBI�s. Trevor Churchill added two hits, and RBI and a stolen base. Ray Dennis earned the victory with four shutout innings. He gave up three hits while striking out three and walking three. For St. Thomas Kris Kewley was four for five with two triples, a double, a single and two RBI�s. Pete Babcock added two doubles and a single with two RBI�s. Darren Tood took the loss giving up five runs in four innings on five hits. He walked four and struck out four.

Angus Roy had a dominating afternoon on the mound to lead Barrie to a 6-3 win over visiting Waterloo. Roy threw a complete-game five-hitter giving up two earned runs while striking out sixteen. Jeremy Ulyenbroek led the Baycats attack with a two-run home run and a double. Andy Sorochan added a two-run double. Justin Divell took the loss for the Tigers while Mark Robinson led the offence with two hits.
