Toronto Maple Leafs 7, Brantford Red Sox 6
In Brantford, Rob Patterson singled and then scored on a double by Carl Embro with two out in the ninth inning to lift the Maple Leafs to a 7-6 win over the Red Sox. Toronto evened the IBL semi-final playoff series at three games each with the seventh and deciding game to be played on Tuesday night at Christie Pits in Toronto. It was the fourth straight time in this series that the game was decided by one run.
Rob Butler added a pair of singles and drove in two wuns for the Maple Leafs, who trailed by three runs after four innings. Chris Rauth (2-0) won for the second straight game after striking out four batters in two scoreless innings of relief. Starter Doug Dimma gave up six runs and seven hits in seven innings.
Mark Ferguson (0-1) gave up three unearned runs and three hits in three innings of relief for starter Brett Gibson, who allowed three runs and five hits in six innings. Jason Gotwalt tripled and drove in a run and Rich Reid had a pair of hits, drove in two runs and scored for Brantford.
