Brantford powers past Guelph in Game 5 of Championship Series

In Guelph, Dan Baribeau hit a game-winning home run in the fifth inning to help the Brantford Red Sox to a 4-1 win over the Royals in Game 5 of the Intercounty Baseball League Championship Series on Thursday. Guelph leads the series 3-2 with Game 6 scheduled for Friday in Brantford.
Stefan Strecker (4-2) gave up one unearned run in 7 2/3 innings for the win.
Mel Melehes (1-1) worked the complete game for Guelph, giving up four runs while striking out nine batters and walking one.
Nathan Grant had three hits for Guelph.
