Panthers Name Jamie Pietraszko Field Manager

The Kitchener Panthers have named former Inter County Baseball League all star catcher and former Panther player Jamie Pietraszko as their field manager for the 2004 season.

Were excited to have a veteran of Jamies caliber and baseball savvy as our skipper this season, stated Darryl Rutherford, the Panthers General Manager. With Jamies great ability as a catcher, he will be terrific in handling our pitching staff. He knows all the leagues top hitters and their weaknesses. Jamie is also very strong in helping younger players develop.

The 26-year-old Pietraszko is a product of the Kitchener Minor Baseball Association and was a leader of three Panthers league championship teams between 1998 and 2001.

Jamies positive attitude and passion for winning is just what the team has been looking for in our search for a 2004 Field Manager, stated Alan Quarry, President of the team. We are looking for another championship for our fans and supporters, recruiting Jamie Pietraszko is a big step in that direction.

The Panthers are celebrating their 85th year in the Inter County Baseball League and will open their home season on May 23rd against Brantford at Jack Couch Park in Kitchener.

The Panthers will play a fundraising exhibition game against the new Stratford Storm team on Sunday, May 2nd at 2 p.m. at Jack Couch.
