Tigers Dramatic Comeback Falls Short

The Tigers roared back from a 9-1 deficit with an incredible run in the top of the ninth inning, but a run in the bottom of the ninth gave the Cardinals the victory. Andy Steeds knocked in Jeremy Lambert to win the game and improve Hamilton to 2 and 1 on the season. Waterloo falls to 1 and 3. Steeds had two hits and two RBI�s for the Cardinals while Jeremy Walker stroked a 2-run home run. Walker also had a single and wound up with 4 RBI�s. Sean Reilly chipped in with two hits, including a home run. Hamilton starter Bill Lawrence took a no decision, but threw 8 very strong innings. Justin Bartkiewicz earned the win getting in relief after Brian Kennedy gave up all 8 ninth inning runs.
For Waterloo Tim Henderson stroke a solo home run in the second inning and added a single. Pat Hill went six innings and took the loss.

The Royals move a full game ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs for first place in the Inter-County Major Baseball standings with tonight�s victory. Brian Dikdan (2-0) allowed just three hits and one run in six innings of work. He struck out three and walked two. The Guelph attack was led by Matt Spatafora who stroked three singles. Chris Becker had a triple, single and an RBI while Kevin Treichel added a home run. For the Red Sox Raul Borjas and Matt Fortuna each had a double and a single. Brett Gibson took the loss surrendering six runs on five hits in three and two-thirds innings. He struck out one and walked one.
