Intercounty Baseball Results - Thursday May 13

Hamilton Cardinals 8, Stratford Storm 0

In Stratford, Craig Hawkins tossed five scoreless innings to back the Hamilton Cardinals to a rain-shortened 8-0 win over the Storm.

Hawkins (1-0) struck out nine batters and gave up two hits in the start and reliever Matt Laroan gave up one run in one inning of relief.

Andi Steeds had three hits and RJ Lambert smacked a pair of doubles and drove in three runs in the win.

Stratford starter Saan Gillespie (0-1) gave up four runs - three earned - in 2 2/3 innings. Reliever Jason Davidson also gave up four runs, including one unearned, in 3 1/3 innings.

Rick Ross and Josh Braby each singled for the Storm in their home opener.
