Intercounty Baseball Results - Sunday May 30

London Majors 8, Hamilton Cardinals 7 (10 innings)

In Hamilton, Ron Oneson brought in the winning run with a sacrifice bunt in the 10th inning to lift the London Majors to an 8-7 win over the Hamilton Cardinals in one of three games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Sunday.

Jeremy Hudson hit three singles and scored the winning run for London. Kevin MacDonald also had three hits and Todd Bargman added a single and a double in the win.

Kevin Virtue (1-1) picked up the win after a scoreless inning of relief for starter Rob Robinson, who allowed six runs - four earned - in seven innings.

Matt Fortuna belted a three-run homer in the second inning and P.J. MacDonald (0-1) suffered the loss for Hamilton.

In Kitchener, Cory Turchan singled and drove in three runs to help the Barrie Baycats to a 9-3 win over the Kitchener Panthers.

Ryan Davis added a two-run single and Casey Virtue (1-0) picked up the win after allowing three runs and five hits in five innings. Derek McDaid worked four hitless innings of relief for his first save.

Omar Goldson (0-1) gave up four runs - three earned - and two hits through five innings.

Jeff Pietraszko hit his second homer of the season - a two-run blast in the fifth inning.

Toronto Maple Leafs 11, Stratford Storm 4

In Toronto, Rob Butler clubbed a two-run home run that helped the Toronto Maple Leafs to an 11-4 win over the Stratford Storm.

Matt Kniginyzky (1-0) struck out 12 batters and allowed one run and three hits in five innings for the win.

Carl Embro had four hits and drove in a pair of runs and Rich Butler added a pair of hits and scored three runs for Toronto.

Brian Green (0-2) allowed six runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings.
