Intercounty Baseball Results - Thursday June 3

Kitchener Panthers 8, Hamilton Cardinals 0

In Kitchener, Joel Scott tossed six scoreless innings to pace the Kitchener Panthers to an 8-0 win over the Hamilton Cardinals in one of two games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Thursday.

Scott (1-1) gave up one hit and struck out two batters for his first win in three starts this season.

Nino Fasulo (0-1) was tagged for eight runs, including one unearned, and five hits in five innings. Bill Lawrence finished the game with three scoreless innings of relief.

Brian Carter belted a pair of doubles and Mark Johnston had two hits, scored a pair of runs and picked up an RBI for Kitchener.

London Majors 3, Stratford Storm 2

In London, Pete Babcock scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the eighth inning to lift the London Majors to a 3-2 win over the Stratford Storm.

Mike Mitro (1-0) worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief for the win and Kevin Virtue recorded the final two outs for his first save of the season. Starter Jeremy Middleton allowed two runs and six hits in six innings.

Trey Schurr (0-2) gave up three runs and seven hits in an eight-inning start for Stratford. He picked up three strikeouts and five walks and hit three batters.

Matt Moir had a pair of hits, including a double, and scored a run for Stratford.
