Adam Hornastaj went seven strong innings and Joel Scott belted a three-run home run in the first inning to lead the Panthers past the Tigers and move the two-time defending champions back to .500. Hornastaj allowed no runs on five hits and struck out five to earn the win. Todd Doherty closed things out with two scoreless innings. Randy Curran, Mark Johnston and Jeff MacDonald added two hits apiece for Kitchener. For Waterloo Player-Coach Jason Hoch had three hits. Justin Divell took the loss, giving up all six runs on ten hits in eight innings.
