Brantford Red Sox 5, London Majors 2

In Brantford, Raul Borjas hit a run-scoring triple that helped the Brantford Red Sox to a 5-2 win over the London Majors in one of four match-ups in the Intercounty Baseball League on Saturday.

Omari Briscoe also tripled and Dave Parsons scored the winning run on an error in the second inning.

Derek Rapini (1-0) allowed one run and four hits in five innings for the win.

Rob Robinson (1-1) gave up five runs and five hits in eight innings for London.

Toronto Maple Leafs 24, Oshawa Dodgers 4

In Oshawa, Rich Butler clubbed a pair of home runs, including a three-run blast in the first inning to power the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 24-4 win over the Oshawa Dodgers.

Danny Gibbons was five-for-five at the plate with a pair of home runs and Kevin Treichel smashed a grand slam in the ninth inning.

Dave Steffler (2-0) gave up three runs - two earned - in six innings for Toronto.

Oshawa starter Dan Nauth (1-1) lasted just 1 2/3 innings, getting tagged for 12 runs - seven earned - and 11 hits.

Ken Calway blasted a solo homer for Oshawa in the seventh inning.

In Guelph, Trevor Churchill had three hits, including the 300th of his IBL career, to pace the Guelph Royals to a 6-4 win over the Kitchener Panthers.

Dave Teboekhorst added a pair of hits, an RBI and scored a run and Paul Bruder (2-0) allowed one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings for Guelph.

Jon Morbey (1-1) allowed three runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Luke Baker was three-for-four and Brian Carter added a pair of hits and drove in two runs for Kitchener.

In Barrie, Cory Turchan scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning to help the Barrie Baycats double the Stratford Storm 8-4 in the opening game of a doubleheader.

Jonathan Baksh and Alex Borgo each had a pair of hits in the win.

John Harbridge (1-0) picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief. He gave up one unearned run and one hit after starter Brad Bissell struck out eight batters across five scoreless innings.

Brian Green (0-3) gave up five runs - one unearned - and four hits in five innings.

Angus Roy tossed a six-hit shutout to back Barrie to a 2-0 win in the second game.

Roy (2-2) struck out seven batters in his fourth start and first complete game of the season.

Borgo had three hits, including a triple, double and third inning single that brought in the winning run.

Yoel Fernandez (0-2) allowed two runs and eight hits in six innings.
