In Guelph, Ted Drew-Smith had a pair of hits, picked up an RBI and scored a run to pace the Guelph Royals to a 6-3 win over the Barrie Baycats in the Intercounty Baseball League on Tuesday.
Kevin Hinton drove in his 365th career run to move him into a tie for third on the all-time IBL list with Bill Byckowski, a nine-time all-star with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1980's and early 1990's.
Mel Melehes (3-0) struck out nine batters across seven innings, allowing one run and six hits.
Casey Virtue (1-1) was tagged for six runs - five earned - and six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Mike Cart led the way offensively for Barrie with a pair of hits and an RBI.
