In Barrie, Mark Tourangeau tossed seven scoreless innings to back the Guelph Royals to a 1-0 win over the Barrie Baycats in the Intercounty Baseball League on Thursday.
Tourangeau (1-1) allowed three hits and three walks while striking out seven batters. Nathan Tami and Aaron Little each tossed an inning of relief to preserve the shutout.
Jordan Neufeld (1-1) gave up an unearned run and three hits in seven innings. Matt Miller finished the game with two scoreless innings of relief.
Ted Drew-Smith drove in the game's only run with a single in the second inning. Jason Borghese added a double in the win.
