London Majors 8, Stratford Storm 4

In Stratford, Simon Galarraga clubbed a two-run home run that helped the London Majors double the Stratford Storm 8-4 in one of two games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Tuesday.

Kevin MacDonald smacked a double and drove in three runs and Kris Kewley added a double and an RBI.

Mike Mitro (2-2) allowed two runs and five hits and struck out nine batters in six innings for the win.

Raul Tiscorreno (0-1) gave up five runs - four earned - and four hits in 5 2/3 innings.

John Hanko tripled and drove in a run and Mark Cox singled, doubled and tripled in the loss.

Guelph Royals 8, Toronto Maple Leafs 2

In Guelph, Jamie Pogue had three hits, including a two-run homer in the eighth inning, to pace the Guelph Royals to an 8-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jason Borghese also homered and Frank Hare added three hits, an RBI and a run scored for Guelph.

Mel Melehes (4-0) picked up his league-leading fourth win of the season by holding Toronto to one run and six hits in seven innings.

Mike Grieve was three-for-four at the plate for Toronto and Matt Kniginyzky (2-1) gave up five runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
