Brantford Red Sox 8, Barrie Baycats 7

In Brantford, Tyler Burnell had a pair of hits and drove in two runs to help the Brantford Red Sox to an 8-7 win over the Barrie Baycats in the Intercounty Baseball League on Friday.

Burnell walked and then scored the winning run on an error in the fifth inning and Eric Wolfe singled, doubled and scored a run in the win.

Brad Hogeterp (3-0) allowed four runs and 12 hits in 6 1/3 innings and Mark Ferguson closed the game with his third save of the season.

Angus Roy (4-3) gave up eight runs - four earned - and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Mike Cart had three hits, including a double, and Cory Turchan added a pair of hits and drove in three runs for Barrie.
