Intercounty Baseball Results - Saturday July 3

Oshawa Dodgers 9, Guelph Royals 2

In Guelph, Mick Kurhan had three hits and drove in a run to pace the Oshawa Dodgers to a 9-2 win over the Guelph Royals in one of three games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Saturday.

Steve Butterworth (1-0) allowed two runs and four hits in six innings for the win.

Mark Tourangeau (2-3) was tagged for eight runs - three earned - and eight hits in two innings. Kevin Hinton belted a solo homer to put Guelph on the board in the second inning.

Barrie Baycats 7, Brantford Red Sox 6

In Barrie, David Latour had three hits, including a double, and scored the winning run on a passed ball in the ninth inning to lift the Barrie Baycats to a 7-6 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

Alex Borgo doubled to set up the winning run in the ninth inning and Jonathan Baksh and Adwin Springer each added two hits in the win.

Derek McDaid (1-2) earned his first win after allowing one unearned run and two hits in three innings of relief. Starter Jordan Neufeld allowed one run and three hits in three innings.

Jeff Simeone (1-1) allowed the winning run and two hits in 1/3 of an inning of relief.

T.J. Shimizu homered and scored two runs for Brantford.

London Majors 7, Stratford Storm 0

In Stratford, Mike Mitro tossed a complete-game shutout to back the London Majors to a 7-0 win over the Stratford Storm.

Mitro (3-2) struck out eight batters and gave up nine hits in the win.

Peter Babcock had a double and a home run and Alex Blackburn added three singles and an RBI.

Raul Tiscorreno (0-2) allowed four runs - three earned - and eight hits in four innings for Stratford.
