Kitchener Panthers 10, Brantford Red Sox 7
In Kitchener, Mark Johnston had two hits, including a home run, to help the Kitchener Panthers to a 10-7 win over the Brantford Red Sox in the Intercounty Baseball League on Monday.
Luke Baker, Harpreet Padda and Craig Stroh each had two hits for the Panthers, who scored the winning run when Brian Carter was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the eighth inning.
Darcy Osipinko (1-3) picked up the win in relief of starter Adam Hornostaj, who gave up seven runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Elliot Love (2-1) was the loser after loading the bases in the eighth inning. Starter Joel Thorney gave up six runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Len Elias and John Mariotti homered for Brantford, who left 15 runners on base in the loss.
