Kitchener Panthers 9, Stratford Storm 3
In Kitchener, Luke Baker was three-for-five with a double and a home run to power the Kitchener Panthers to a 9-3 win over the Stratford Storm in the Intercounty Baseball League on Sunday.
Jeff Pietraszko also homered and Jamie Pietraszko and Mark Johnston each added two hits in the win.
Ron Sweeney (1-0) tossed two hitless innings of relief after starter Brad Hagedorn allowed two runs in three innings. Mark Schmidt finished the game by striking out five of the final seven batters.
Kevin McKnight (0-2) gave up seven runs - five earned - and nine hits in seven innings.
Mike Alati had three hits for Stratford.

In London, John Boom belted a three-run home run in the third inning that gave the London Majors a 6-2 win over the Oshawa Dodgers in the first game of a doubleheader.
