Cardinals Win With Huge Tenth Inning

The Cardinals exploded for nine runs in the top of the tenth inning and sailed to an 11-2 victory. Jeremy Walker knocked in the winning run off losing pitcher Shaun Spellar who was tagged for four earned runs in the tenth inning. Andy Steeds led Hamilton with two hits and two RBI�s while Jeff Martin chipped in with two hits and one RBI. Justin Bartkiewicz upped his record to 4 and 0 with nine innings of work. He gave up no earned runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking three. Andrew Schwalm came on to pitch a scoreless ninth inning.
For the Storm Jason Head had a triple and an RBI, Peter Babcock had two singles and an RBI and Ben Vaniderstine added a pair of singles. St. Thomas starter Kris Kewley gave up two earned runs on five hits while striking out five and walking just one over seven and a third.

The home-town Baycats scored three times in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to a 9-3 victory thanks in part to the pitching of Brad Grievison. He gave up just one earned run on six hits in seven innings while striking out five and walking two. Red Sox starter Dale Marsden (0-2) took the loss, allowing three earned runs in his lone inning of work.
