Brantford Red Sox 4, Oshawa Dodgers 3
In Oshawa, John Mariotti had two hits, including a seventh-inning single that brought in the winning run to give the Brantford Red Sox a 4-3 win over the Oshawa Dodgers in one of four games on the Intercounty Baseball League schedule on Saturday.
T.J. Shimizu had two hits, including a solo homer for Brantford while Stefan Strecker (6-2) earned the win after allowing three runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings. Mark Ferguson closed the game with 2 2/3 hitless innings of relief for his fourth save of the season.
Travis Gilligan (2-4) allowed four runs - three earned - and five hits in seven innings. Mark Wilson finished the game with two scoreless innings of relief.
Tim Smith had two hits and drove in a run and Ken Calway was two-for-three with an RBI double for Oshawa.
