Toronto Maple Leafs 16, Hamilton Cardinals 6
In Toronto, Joe Colameco belted three home runs to power the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 16-6 win over the Hamilton Cardinals in one of three series-opening games in the IBL Playoffs on Wednesday.
Colameco, who had just one homer in 13 regular season games, scored four times and drove in four runs. Rob Butler added a two-run homer and Danny Gibbons was two-for-four with a two-run double in the win.
Paul Spoljaric (1-0) went eight innings for Toronto, giving up four unearned runs on eight hits while striking out eight batters and walking three.
Brett Lawson (0-1) was tagged for 12 runs - 10 earned - and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings for Hamilton.
Geoff Allen stroked a two-run double that helped Hamilton jump out to a four-run lead in the first inning. P.J. MacDonald had a pair of hits and drove in three runs and Matt Fortuna was three-for-three with an RBI.

Kitchener Panthers 9, London Majors 6
In Kitchener, Mark Johnston had four hits, including a homer and two doubles and drove in three runs to pace the Kitchener Panthers to a 9-6 win over the London Majors in the first game of their first round playoff series.
Brian Carter added three hits and Ian Hagan (1-0) earned the win after allowing six runs and 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings. Tyler Wilson recorded the final out for the save.
Mike Mitos (0-1) gave up seven runs and 12 hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out five batters and walked one.
Alex Blackburn belted a pair of solo homers and Pete Babcock added a two-run blast for London, who hosts Game 2 of the series on Friday.

In Barrie, Kyle Leon smacked a game-winning solo homer in the sixth inning to lift the Guelph Royals to a 3-2 win over the Barrie Baycats in the opening game of their first round playoff series.
Jamie Pogue had a pair of doubles and drove in a run and Dave Teboekhorst was two-for-three with a double for Guelph.
Meleti Melehes (1-0) allowed two runs and six hits in seven innings for the win and Aaron Little struck out two batters in the ninth inning for the save.
Brad Bissell (0-1) gave up three runs and seven hits in seven innings for Barrie.
Toby Legace had two hits and scored a run and Jonathan Baksh was two-for-four and drove in a run in the loss.
