In Oshawa, Dave Steffler tossed seven shutout innings to back the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 10-0 win over the Oshawa Dodgers in one of two games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Tuesday.
Steffler (3-0) allowed four hits while striking out six batters and walking one in the win. Dave Hatch and Doug Dimma each pitched an inning of relief to preserve the shutout.
Damon Topolie was three-for-four with a pair of doubles and drove in four runs and Danny Gibbons and Shayne Ridley each had three hits in the win.
Oshawa starter Alex Baboulas (0-2) took the loss after giving up six runs - five earned - and five hits in three innings.

Hamilton Thunderbirds 9, London Majors 8
In Hamilton, R.J. Lambert singled home the winning run in the eighth inning to lift the Hamilton Thunderbirds to a 9-8 win over the London Majors.
Justin Wendt had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drive in a pair of runs and Tom Robertson added a pair of hits and scored three runs for Hamilton.
Mark McDonald (2-1) picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief after starter Billy Lawrence allowed four runs in six innings.
Mike Mitro (2-1) allowed two runs and four hits in an inning of relief for London.
Chris Hamilton belted a solo home run in the fourth inning and Pete Babcock added a three-run double that put the Majors ahead in the eighth inning.
