Hamilton just signed Jason Pilkington today and the Chicago Cubs draft pick didnt disappoint. Pilkington went eight innings for the win as the Cardinals moved a half game back of second-place Guelph. The Panthers dropped to 6 and 5, alone in fifth. Pilkington, who was drafted in the 36th round earlier this week, gave up one earned run on four hits while striking out eleven and walking five. Kitcheners lone run was walked in by Pilkington in the eighth inning. Mike Olides (1-2) had control problems over his five innings and gave up ten runs on seven hits. He walked a total of twelve Cardinals and threw five wild pitches. At the plate for Hamilton Jerrod Haase had three hits, two RBIs and scored twice while Andy Steeds had two hits and 3RBIs and also scored twice.
