Barrie Baycats 4, Guelph Royals 1

In Guelph, Cam Newitt tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to back the Barrie Baycats to a 4-1 win over the Guelph Royals in the Intercounty Baseball League on Tuesday.

Newitt (1-1) struck out three batters and allowed four hits after starter Jordan Neufeld gave up one run and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Ryan Davis was two-for-three and scored a run and Brady Dunton added an RBI double for the Baycats.

Rylan Pranger (0-1) took the loss after allowing three runs - two earned - and five hits in seven innings.

Frankie Hare was three-for-four with a stolen base for Guelph.

London Majors 11, Brantford Red Sox 7

In Brantford, Brad McElroy had three hits and scored two runs, including the winner in the sixth inning to help the London Majors to an 11-7 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

Mike Ambrose added three hits, including a double, and scored three runs for London.

Shawn Gillespie (1-0) allowed seven runs - six earned - and nine hits in seven innings for the win.

Brad Hogeterp (0-3) took the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits in 1/3 of an inning of relief after starter Elliot Love gave up three runs in five innings.

Tyler Burnell had a pair of hits, including a home run for Brantford.
