Toronto Maple Leafs 7, Brantford Red Sox 2

In Toronto, Matt Logan belted a two-run home run in the eighth inning that helped the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 7-2 win over the Brantford Red Sox in the Intercounty Baseball League on Sunday.

Gamin Teague also homered and Joe Colameco added a two-run single that brought in the winning run in the second inning.

Paul Spoljaric (4-1) allowed two runs and nine hits in a complete-game effort for the Maple Leafs.

Stefan Strecker (1-2) allowed seven runs in 7 2/3 innings and Jason Trim had three hits for Brantford.

Kitchener Panthers 13, Stratford Storm 3

In Kitchener, Jeff Pietraszko smacked a pair of home runs to power the Kitchener Panthers to a 13-3 win over the Stratford Storm.

Pietraszko, who walked twice, hit a solo homer in the fourth inning and added a two-run blast in the eighth. Brian Carter added a pair of hits in the win.

Joel Scott (4-0) allowed three unearned runs and three hits in five innings for Kitchener.

Nate Thompson (0-2) was tagged for seven runs - six earned - on two hits and seven walks in three innings. Joe Laderoute worked the rest of the game, allowing six runs - one earned - in five innings.

Chris Novia supplied the Stratford offence with a three-run homer in the first inning.

In London, Tom VanKasteren pitched six shutout inning to back the London Majors to a 2-0 win over the Barrie Baycats to split a doubleheader on Sunday.

Kris Kewley drove in the winning run with a single in the second inning and VanKasteren (1-1) gave up one hit and struck out five batters. Mike Mitro finished the game with a scoreless inning of relief for his first save.

Chris England (1-1) took the loss after allowing two runs and five hits in five innings.

In the first game, Toby Legace scored the winning run on an infield error in the first inning to help the Baycats to a 4-1 win.

Angus Roy (4-1) allowed just one run and eight hits in seven innings for the win.

Shawn Gillespie (0-1) allowed four runs - one earned - and nine hits in seven innings for London.

The game between the Oshawa Dodgers and Hamilton Thunderbirds was postponed due to poor field conditions. A make-up date will be announced.
