IBL Playoff Update - Saturday August 6
Guelph Royals 4, Barrie Baycats 1
In Guelph, the Royals opened their Intercounty Baseball League semi-final series against the Barrie Baycats on a winning note with a 4-1 victory on Saturday night. The Royals now lead the series 1-0.
Guelph leftfielder Ryan Asis had two hits and two RBI�s to the lead the Royals. Dave Teboekhorst had three hits while Joel Lynch and Frankie Hare each added two hits. Ryan Davis had two hits and an RBI for Barrie.
Winning pitcher Rylan Pranger scattered six Barrie hits in 7 2/3 innings for the win. He walked three and struckout two before being relieved by Ryan Hart who picked up the save.
Brad Bissell started and took the loss for Barrie, lasting five innings and allowing eight hits while walking only one and striking out five.
