Toronto Maple Leafs 12, Kitchener Panthers 5
In Toronto, Carl Embro hit a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning that pushed the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 12-5 win over the Kitchener Panthers in the Intercounty Baseball League playoffs on Wednesday.
Toronto leads the series 2-1 with Game 3 on Friday in Kitchener.
Gamin Teague belted a two-run homer in the seventh inning and Nildo Puertas added a three-run blast in the eighth.
Mike Phinney (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings of relief for starter Yole Reina, who left the game in the fifth inning.
Mark Schmidt (1-1) allowed seven runs - five earned - and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Craig Stroh had a pair of hits and drove in two runs for Kitchener.
