IBL Playoff Update - Saturday August 13

Barrie Baycats 6, Guelph Royals 0

In Guelph, Ryan Spataro had a pair of hits, including a home run that helped the Barrie Baycats to a 6-0 win over the Guelph Royals in the Intercounty Baseball League playoffs on Saturday. Barrie won the series 4-1 and advances to the IBL Championship Series for the first time in franchise history.

Brad Bissel (1-2) tossed a complete game three-hit shutout, striking out 11 batters in the win. Toby Legace also homered and scored two runs for Barrie.

Brian Barr (1-2) allowed six runs - four earned - and eight hits in eight innings for Guelph, who won the league championship in each of the past two years.
