IBL Playoff Update - Sunday August 21
Barrie Baycats 6, Toronto Maple Leafs 1
In Toronto, Jordan Lundberg hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the eighth inning that led the Barrie Baycats to a 6-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Intercounty Baseball League Championship Series on Sunday.
Barrie takes a 2-1 lead in the series and host Game 4 on Tuesday.
Jordan Neufeld (3-0) pitched seven strong innings for Barrie, giving up one run and seven hits in the win. Cam Newitt tossed two hitless innings of relief to finish the game.
Jared McCord hit a solo homer in the fifth inning to give Barrie an early lead. Dave Latour had three hits, including a run-scoring single in the ninth inning.
Shayne Ridley had a pair of singles and drove in Toronto's only run.
Yole Reina (1-1) allowed three runs and six hits in eight innings for the Maple Leafs.
