Guelph Royals 7, London Majors 1

In London, Kyle Leon has three hits, including a double, to pace the Guelph Royals to a 7-1 win over the Majors in one of four games in the Intercounty Baseball League on Sunday.

Joel Lynch was three-for-four and Mike Alati added a pair of hits in the win.

Meleti Melehes (2-2) was the winner after allowing one run and seven hits in seven innings. Alex Baboulas allowed one hit and struck out three batters in the final two innings.

Tom VanKasteren (2-1) allowed five runs - four earned - and five hits in a five-inning start for London.

Brad McElroy and Chuck Roberts each had a pair of hits in the loss.

Stratford Nationals 7, Hamilton Thunderbirds 5 (11 innings)

In Hamilton, Tyler Kymetyco had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to help the Stratford Nationals to a 7-5 win over the Thunderbirds in 11 innings. It was Stratford's first win of the season.

Kymetyco also stole three bases while Chris Ryan and Lanny Hernandez each added a pair of hits in the win.

Simon Liston (1-2) went all 11 innings for Stratford, allowing five runs - four earned - and nine hits while striking out nine batters and walking three.

Andrew Schwalm (0-2) gave up a pair of unearned runs and three hits in one inning of relief.

Tony Daubert had a pair of doubles while Tom Robertson, Jon McGinn and Ryan Lambert all had two hits for Hamilton.

In Kitchener, Mike Roeder and Jeff Pietraszko each had two hits and Scott Schmidt drove in a pair of runs to lead the Panthers to a 6-4 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

Adam Hummel (2-0) allowed four runs and seven hits in five innings for the win while Adam Hornostaj finished the game with an inning of relief for his first save.

Steve Murray (2-2) was tagged for six runs - all in the first inning - and eight hits in six innings of work.

Hyung Cho had four hits including a solo home run for Brantford.

In Toronto, Jeremiah Groulx hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Maple Leafs to a 7-6 win over the Oshawa Dodgers.

Danny Gibbons and Damon Topolie homered and Mark Zamojc drove in a pair of runs in the win.

Yole Reina (3-1) allowed one run and one hit in two innings of relief after starter Dave Steffler allowed five runs - two earned - and five hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Aaron Gurdun (0-1) gave up two runs and four hits in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

Ryan Crotin hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Ken Calway tied the game in the top of the ninth with a solo blast.
