Becker Sinks Baycats With Solo Home Run In The Ninth

For the second straight meeting between these two teams Chris Becker broke the Baycats hearts with a game-winning home run. Becker led off the ninth inning with a solo shot (6) to give the Royals an 8-7, come from behind victory. Kyle Leon led Guelph with two triples and two RBI�s while Trevor Churchill added three hits. Mike Didier (1-1) picked up the win with two innings of relief. He allowed one hit and struck out two. Royals starter Mel Melehes gave up six earned runs on eleven hits while striking out nine in seven innings.
Barrie hurler Angus Roy (4-2) suffered the loss, allowing three earned runs in two innings. Baycats starter Brad Bissell gave up four earned runs on five hits in seven innings. Jeremy Ulyenbroek went 3 for 5 at the plate while David Latour had two hits.

Joe Wollscheid threw a complete-game five-hitter to lead the Majors to the 4-3 victory. Wollscheid gave up three earned runs and struck out five give while Mike Wainman led the London attack with a hit and an RBI.
Brantford starter Stefan Strecker (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season after giving up four runs on four hits over six innings. Scott Hughes led the Red Sox with two doubles and an RBI.

Chuck Roberts was 2 for 2 with a home run and a pair of RBI�s to lead London past Brantford 15-7 and a doubleheader sweep Saturday afternoon. Tim Hinchcliffe was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI�s while Mike Wainman had three hits, an RBI and a stolen base. Shaun Peet earned the win, allowing two earned runs on thirteen hits over seven innings.
Red Sox starter Dale Marsden took the loss after giving up six earned runs on seven hits in seven innings. Tyson Morgan led Brantford at the plate, going 4 for 4 with an RBI.
