Schnell, Butler Lead Maple Leafs To Eighteenth Straight Win

Hans Schnell took over starting pitching duties and threw eight strong innings to lead Toronto to an 8-2 win over visiting Brantford. Schnell gave up a pair of earned runs on five hits while striking out four and walking one. Rob Butler led the offense with three hits, including his league-leading eleventh home run. Damon Topolie, Jason Corrigale and Kevin Foley added two hits each for the Maple Leafs, now 20 and 1 on the season.
Raul Borjas led the Red Sox with a pair of hits.
Panthers Edge Dodgers, Johnston Knocks In Six

The Panthers led a 4-1 lead slip away and trailed 7-4 after the top of the eighth inning, but rebounded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to pull off the 8-7 victory. Mark Johnston led Kitchener, going 4 for 5 with a three-run home run, two doubles and six RBI�s. Luke Baker was 3 for 3 with a pair of walks, and he scored three times. Mike Olides (3-2) picked up the win with two-thirds of an inning of relief and Player-Manager Steve Scagnetti earned the save with a scoreless ninth.
For the Dodgers, Junior Adam Stokes hit a 2-run double in the eighth inning and J.P. Vittorio went 1 for 3 with a sacrifice fly. Darryl Jennings (2-2) pitched the eighth inning and took the loss. He gave up four runs on four hits and a walk.

Three Tigers had two hits each to lead Waterloo to a 13-7 victory over visiting Barrie in the first game of a doubleheader. Ted Drew Smith, Jason Hoch and Ryan Morris each had two hits and two RBI�s while Rob Dinwoodie earned the win in his first start of the season. He gave up seven runs on right hits in seven innings while striking out two and walking two.
Mike Hallman (1-1) took the loss, allowing six runs on three hits in one inning of work. Dave Latour paced the Barrie offense with a three-run home run (2) in the fourth inning. Ian Prescott added three hits and an RBI.
Smith Paces Tigers To Doubleheader Sweep

The Tigers completed the doubleheader sweep with a hard-fought 3-2 victory. Adam Beck (1-1) won the pitcher�s duel with six strong innings. He gave up two runs on nine hits while striking out three. Rob Dinwoodie came on in the seventh inning to earn the save. Ted Drew Smith gave Waterloo all the offense they would need with a bases-clearing double in the third inning.
Barrie�s Brad Grievison took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked two.
Ridley�s Two Homers Leads Cardinals Past Storm

Shane Ridley hammered his second and third home runs of the season to lead the Cardinals past the Storm 11-3. Ridley had four RBI�s while teammate Sean Reilly added two hits, two RBI�s and scored three times. Wayne Lowyer chipped in with a solo home run in his first game of the season. Jason Pilkington (2-1) went eight innings to earn the win, giving up two unearned runs on two hits while striking out eleven and walking three.
St. Thomas Junior Chris Gosnell (0-1) started and went seven innings to take the loss.
