Kitchener won their fourth straight game thanks in large part to the pitching arm of Jesus Figueora. The import notched his first win of the season with six solid innings against hometown Oshawa. Figueora gave up two earned runs on five hits while striking out four and walking four. Randy Curran led a balanced Panthers attack with three hits, including a solo home run, two RBI�s, two walks and four runs. Joel Scott had three hits and and two RBI�s, Mark Johnston had two hits and two RBI�s, and Jeff McDonald added a 3-run inside-the-park home run (3) in the ninth inning.
Oshawa starter Jamaal Joseph took the loss, allowing four earned runs on six hits in five innings. Kael Racioppa led the offense, scoring twice with two doubles and a stolen base. Ryan Crotin belted a solo home run (2) and Greg Andrew chipped in with an RBI double.
The Panthers have moved into a fifth-place tie with St. Thomas and now only trail fourth-place Barrie by a single game.
