Barrie scored two times in the bottom of the eleventh inning to edge visiting Brantford this afternoon. Jeremy Ulyenbroek knocked in Dave Latour with the winning run to give the Baycats their fourteenth win of the season. Latour went 2 for 4 on the day as was Jared McCord who scored the trying run. Workhorse Cam Newitt pitched all eleven innings to earn his second win of the season (2-5). He gave up two earned runs on eleven hits while striking out eleven. Brantford reliever Andrew Moss (0-2) took the loss after walking the bases loaded in the eleventh, and was then replaced by Brett Gibson. Dan Baribeau led the Red Sox attack with two hits and two walks.

Guelph won their seventh in a row tonight over a game and improving Waterloo team. The Tigers trailed 5-2 heading into the top of the ninth and did rally for two runs off winning pitcher Brian Dikdan, but Mike Didier came on to preserve the win. Dikdan (6-1), who went eight and a third, gave up four earned runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking one. Dider did allow a hit but also struck out one to earn his third save of the season. Nathan Grant led the Guelph offense, going 3 for 3 with a pair of RBI�s. Chris Becker added two RBI�s and Kyle Leon hit a solo home run in the second inning off losing pitcher Tyler Wilson. Wilson allowed five earned runs on eleven hits though eight innings, striking out four and walking three. Mike Robertson went 2 for 3 for the Tigers with Tim Henderson picking up two RBI�s. Waterloo, now losers of two in a row, sit two and a half games back of the final playoff position. Guelph is four games back of first place Toronto and are on a seven-game win streak.
