Nathan Grants two-run home run (2) in the bottom of the tenth inning gave the Royals a 3-2 victory over the visiting Baycats. Grant, who went 2 for 4 on the night, scored along with Dave Teboekhorst who reached on an error to give Guelph their nineteenth win of the season. Barrie took the lead on Liam OBriens RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth but Kyle Leons RBI-single in the bottom of the ninth forced an extra inning. The Baycats re-took the lead when Sean OBrien doubled, went to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on an error in the top of the tenth. Casey Cooper (4-2) went the distance to earn the win, allowing two earned runs on eight hits while striking out seven and walking one. Barrie starter Brad Grievison (4-2) pitched nine and a third solid innings but did take the loss. He gave up three earned runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking one. The game took only one hour and fifty-four minutes to play.
