Kitchener moved into a share of fourth-place with Barrie thanks to a 12-11 win over visiting London Monday night. The Panthers held leads of 4-1 and 8-4 but wound up trailing 11-10 after seven innings. Randy Curran led off the eighth with a double and eventually scored setting the stage for Jeff Pietraszko�s game winning double scoring Joel Scott from first. Curran went 4 for 5 with two doubles and two singles while Scott was 3 for 5 with a 3-run home run (5) in the first inning. Luke Baker also had a big night with three hits, including a two-run home run (6) in the fourth. Andy Pietraszko went 3 for 4 and was a home run away from hitting for the cycle. Kitchener reliever Brad Hagedorn earned the win with two scoreless innings of work. He allowed three hits while striking out four. London loaded the bases with one out in the top of the ninth, but Hagedorn got Chuck Roberts to pop out then struck out Chad McKellar to end the game. For London Kevin Virtue went 2 for 4 with a solo home run (1) in the first inning and Chad McKellar went 3 for 6 with a double and two singles. Virtue also took the loss, giving up four earned runs on three hits in four-plus innings of relief. The loss for the Majors is their eighth in a row.
