Torontos magic number for winning the pennant now sits at one after Wednesday nights 10-2 win over visiting Hamilton. A Toronto win or Guelph loss would give the Maple Leafs the title. The Leafs used a balanced offensive attack, led by Damon Topolie who stroked a three-run home run (3) and a double. Rob Butler added a solo home run (his league-leading twelfth) and a single. Mike Asselin also had a solo home run (2) and an RBI-single. Tim Goheen (3-1) picked up the win with five solid innings. He didnt allow an earned run and struck out five. Hamilton starter and loser Bill Lawrence (1-4) gave up four earned runs on eight hits in five innings. Sean Reilly led the Cardinals at the plate with a solo home run, his first of the season. Tom Robertson knocked in the other run with an RBI groundout.
