Panthers Move Into Fourth-Place Tie With Baycats

The Panthers moved into a tie for fourth and at the same time pulled three games ahead of the sixth-place Storm. Randy Curran led the Kitchener attack with a three-run home run in the first inning, his tenth of the season. Curran, the Intercounty�s career home run leader, now trails Rob Butler by one in the home run race this season. Jeff McDonald added a two-run blast in the eighth, his fifth. Jeff Pietraszko added three singles while Luke Baker and Andy Pietraszko chipped in with two singles each. Chris Currie (1-2) earned the win, giving up two earned runs on seven hits in six innings. He struck out three and walked four.
St. Thomas starter Darby Parsons (2-2) took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits in five innings. Jeremy Hudson led the Storm at the plate with three singles. Andrew Mercier added two singles and an RBI while Jason Head had two singles.
Royals Snap Two-Game Skid In Big Way

The Royals exploded out of their two-game losing streak with a 21-hit, 18-run output at home against the visiting Dodgers. Casey Cooper (5-2) picked up the win with five solid innings of work. He allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out three. Chris Becker had a big night going 3 for 6 with six RBI�s. He now leads the league in runs batted in with 36. Dave Teboekhorst went 3 for 4 with three runs and three RBI�s while Kevin Hinton had four hits. Trevor Churchill also helped out with two hits, two runs and two RBI�s.
For Oshawa their lone run came courtesy a Ryan Crotin solo home run (4) in the first inning. Crotin had two of the Dodgers three hits on the night. The loss snapped Oshawa�s two-game win streak.

Shaun Peet improved to 3 and 2 on the season after throwing eight innings of shutout baseball to lead his Majors and keep their playoff hopes alive. Peet struck out four as London snapped a long eight game losing streak. Chuck Roberts led the winners at the plate with two hits, two stolen bases and two RBI�s. For Hamilton Jason Pilkington (2-2) took the loss, giving up four runs (one earned) on three hits in three innings.
