Baycats Win Pitchers Duel Over Maple Leafs

The Baycats edged the league-leading Maple Leafs in front of 1138 fans in Barrie, a franchise record for attendance. Cam Newitt earned the win allowing an unearned run on two hits in six innings of work. Angus Roy threw the final three innings and didn�t allow a hit while striking out three. Jordan Lundberg led the Baycats attack going two for three with a triple and an RBI. Liam O�Brien added a pair of hits for Barrie, now 18 and 16 with one game remaining.
For Toronto Rob Butler had the lone RBI and Gamon Teague added a hit and a stolen base. Tim Goheen took the loss, giving up two runs, both unearned, on seven hits in five innings. The Maple Leafs are now 28 and 4 with four games left in the regular season.

Jarred Haase led the Hamilton attack with a home run, double and four RBI's as the Cardinals won their 21st game of the season. Jeff Martin added three hits and two RBI's. Craig Hawkins earned the win, giving up no runs on three hits in six innings. For Brantford Raul Borjas had two singles and an RBI. Brett Gibson took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits in six innings.

Al Stephens went two for three with a double and three RBI�s to lead the Dodgers past the visiting Tigers in game one of a crucial doubleheader in Oshawa Saturday afternoon. Brad Hanna added two hits and scored twice with Terry Arges also scoring twice and adding a single. Nat Ogborne went the distance to earn the win. He gave up three runs (none earned) on five hits while striking out three and walking three.
For Waterloo Greg Stefan had a hit and an RBI with Rob Dinwoodie adding a double. Dinwoodie also took the loss, giving up five runs (two earned) on seven hits in six innings.

With a 14-3 win over the visiting Tigers, the Dodgers have taken over seventh place in the standings as they battle Brantford and Waterloo for the final playoff spot. Ryan Crotin led Oshawa with three hits, including a two-run home run, and four RBI�s. J.P. Vittorio added three hits and a pair of RBI�s and Graig Andrew went two for three with two RBI�s. Jamaal Joseph notched the win, giving up two earned runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked three.
For Waterloo Pat Hill took the loss, allowing nine earned runs on fourteen hits in five innings. Rob Dinwoodie had an RBI-double for Waterloo while Jason Hoch went 2 for 4 and scored twice.
Dodgers coach Gary Minacs made his season debut at second base in the seventh inning and made a nice play on a ground ball to end the game. It marks the sixth decade Minacs has played baseball.

Guelph went deep three times en route to a 17-7 win over visiting Kitchener Saturday night. Kyle Leon had a huge night for the Royals going 4 for 5 with a three-run home run in the sixth and six RBI�s. Kevin Hinton was 4 for 4 with a three-run home run in the fourth and four RBI�s while Jason Borghese added a three-run home run of his own in the eighth and wound up with four RBI�s. Mike Didier earned the win, giving up three earned runs on five hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked four.
For Kitchener Joel Scott went 5 for 5 with three RBI�s. Randy Curran added a two-run home run in the seventh inning. Steve Scagnetti took the loss, allowing ten earned runs on eleven hits in six innings. He struck out two and walked three. The Panthers are now a half game ahead of fifth place Barrie. The Panthers have three games remaining while Barrie has two.
Storm Finishes In Sixth, Sets Franchise Record For Wins

The Storm have completed a season that saw them set a franchise record for wins with 17, three more than the previous best of 14. Andrew Mercier led the attack with a home run, double, single and two RBI�s. Jamie Gosselin knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth. Tyler Stevenson and Pete Babcock added a single and two RBI�s apiece. Tom Vankastern picked up the win with two innings of relief.
For London Shaun Peet had a double, two singles and an RBI with Mike Wainman adding three singles and an RBI. Yoel Fernandez took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits in just one inning of relief.
