The Red Sox battled the Maple Leafs hard Thursday night but fell short in a bid to force a one-game playoff for the final playoff position. Sean Travers led the Toronto attack with a solo home run and a single, and he scored twice. Damon Topolie added a double with Jason Corrigale chipping in with two singles. Tim Goheen (4-2) earned the win, giving up one earned run on four hits while striking out four and walking three. Brantford starter and ace Brett Gibson (3-6) took the loss, allowing four earned runs on five hits in seven and two-thirds innings. He struck out two and walked two. Tyson Morgan had a single and scored one of Brantford�s two runs while Matt Fortuna added a double.

Oshawa came up big in a game they had to win to make the post-season. Darryl Reid had a huge night with a home run, double, single and five RBI�s. Pat Tobin added two hits and two RBI�s with Tony Quick adding two singles and two RBI�s. Darryl Jennings went four and a third to earn the win and up his record to 2 and 4. He gave up five runs in eight hits while striking out two and walking two. Waterloo starter Adam Beck (1-3) took the loss, allowing ten runs on seven hits in two innings. Ted Drew Smith led the Tigers at the plate with two doubles and an RBI with John Hanko adding two singles and an RBI.
