Crotin Hits For Cycle, Puts Dodgers On the Verge Of Huge Playoff Upset

The Dodgers are one win away from a major playoff upset thanks in large part to Ryan Crotin who hit for the cycle tonight. Crotin belted a two-run home run in the third, singled in the sixth, doubled in the eighth, and completed the cycle with a triple in the top of the ninth inning. He also had four RBI�s to lead his Dodgers to a 2-1 series lead. Ken Calway added a two-run home run in the sixth and Jonathan Binder belted a solo home run in the third inning. Oshawa starter Brad Bellerby picked up the win, allowing two earned runs on eight hits in seven innings.
Guelph starter Casey Cooper took the loss, giving up seven earned runs on eleven hits in eight and a third innings. Jason Borghese led the Royals attack with a two-run home run in the seventh. Trevor Churchill added a pair of hits.
Game four goes Thursday night in Oshawa.

The Kitchener Panthers will live to see at least one more playoff day. They exploded for thirteen runs on sixteen hits as they staved off elimination with Tuesday night�s 13-3 win in Barrie. Game four is back at Jack Couch Park on Thursday with Barrie leading 2 games to 1.
Mark Johnston had a huge night for the winners, going 3 for 5 with two home runs and four RBI�s. Randy Curran went 4 for 6 with four RBI�s and Jeff Pietraszko went 3 for 5, scored four times, had a solo home run and two doubles. Jesus Figueroa earned the win, giving up one unearned run on five hits over seven innings. He struck out six along the way.
Barrie starter Cam Newitt struck out thirteen Panthers, but gave up seven earned runs on twelve hits over his six innings. Jared McCord led the Baycats with two hits and a run while Sean O�Brien added a pair of hits.
