Intercounty Baseball Playoff Results - Wednesday August 11
Guelph Royals 8, Brantford Red Sox 2
In Brantford, Jamie Pogue singled home Trevor Churchill for the winning run in the seventh inning to give the Guelph Royals an 8-2 win over the Brantford Red Sox in the Intercounty Baseball League playoffs on Wednesday. Guelph leads the series 3-0 and host Game 4 on Thursday.
Pogue hit three singles in the win and Kyle Leon added two hits, including a double, and drove in a pair of runs. Kris Dabrowiecki (1-1) allowed two runs and nine hits in 7 1/3 innings for the win.
Stefan Strecker (1-1) gave up a pair of runs and four hits in four innings. John Mariotti had three singles and drove in a run for Brantford.

London Majors 5, Toronto Maple Leafs 2
In Toronto, Brian Blackburn belted a two-run homer in the sixth inning to lift the London Majors to a 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. London, who finished sixth in the regular season, leads the semi-final series 3-0 over the Maple Leafs, who won the pennant.
Mike Mitro (2-2) gave up two runs - one earned - and nine hits in a complete-game effort for London, who hosts Game 4 on Saturday.
Jeremy Hudson added a two-run single in the fourth inning.
Joe Thomas (1-1) allowed five runs - four earned - and 11 hits across nine innings for Toronto.
Rich Butler hit a solo homer in the fifth inning, Steve Condotta added a pair of singles and Rob Butler was one-for-three and picked up an RBI with a bases-loaded walk.
