Intercounty Baseball Playoff Results - Thursday August 11
Guelph Royals 5, Brantford Red Sox 4
In Guelph, Chris Becker was two-for-four and drove in a pair of runs to lift the Guelph Royals to a 5-4 win over the Brantford Red Sox in the Intercounty Baseball League playoffs on Thursday. 
Guelph wins the semi-final series 4-0 and will play in the IBL Championship Series for the Jack and Lynne Dominico Trophy against the winner of the Toronto Maple Leafs-London Majors series.
Trevor Churchill had three hits and drove in a run for Guelph, which is making its second straight appearance in the Championship Series and is trying for its fourth championship in the past 12 years.
Jason Perry (1-0) allowed one run and one hit in two innings of relief for the win and Aaron Little earned his fifth save of the playoffs with a pair of shutout innings.
Joel Thorney (1-1) gave up five runs - one earned - and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings.
John Mariotti clubbed a solo homer in the fourth inning for Brantford, who lost to Guelph in seven games in the Championship Series in 2003.
